Sushi again?!;

Yes people, I had sushi again today.
But today was different, it was with bae!
&Not only that, but this time it was:

Genki Sushi has been around in Singapore for the longest time ever. It only ever had one outlet at Forum Shopping Mall. I used to go there almost every week for lunch or dinner before or after my class at Julia Gabriel (located on the top floor). This was when I was like in lower primary?? Easily 15 years ago?? It's the best sushi place to go to, so fresh and just really awesome! They managed to survive for quite a few years then it closed down and I was oh-so sad.. Till one time I was walking around Orchard Central with my dad, and we came across it! So we had lunch there, and even after all those years, they still managed to maintain their standard and freshness and quality of their sushi.

So you could just imagine my joy when I found out that they were going to open one at Waterway Point!? I literally jumped up and down at Punggol Mrt platform when I saw the advert. Not even kidding you, you can just ask Fai. (hahaha)

It took them quite awhile to finish with their renovation in the mall though, cause even aft about a month of the mall's opening they were still closed! &Finally they're officially open now! Been promising Fai that I'll treat him to Genki once they open, so today was the day :)

I have to tell you though, the pricing is bloody goddamn reasonable...
Much much cheaper than what I had with my cousin ytd at Sakae sushi.

Fai and I had like our own mains and all the other sushi including sashimi and loads of other salmon dishes and a drink... The amount? You wouldn't believe me.. just $40!!!! Including gst and service charge btw.. SO GOOD RIGHT?? If you wanna have a solo meal there, you'd just be spending $20 at most and get to be like super full of sushi.

But honestly, if I were to compare the price now to back then... Just my mother and I eating at Genki could cost us about $80 at least. Yes people. Genki last time was a daylight robbery sushi place. So of course I was super pleased. Not just me too, Fai is in love with Genki Sushi now. I mean c'mon people, it's much cheaper than us going to Pizza Hut or Swensens or Hong Kong Streets even!!! Now Fai just wants to spend dinner dates at Genki Sushi.. Haha!

People, just go get yourselves to Genki Sushi.
Yes, I may have had sushi yesterday and again today.

Throwback to yesterday;

Yesterday, I met with ma cousin and we had sushiiiiiiii :)
Have definitely been craving for it since like forever, I mean when is sushi not a good time to eat?
Ammaraight?!

Then we walked around searching for her hubby's present and a hat for her to wear when she goes on her honeymoon to New Zealand (so fun!)

That's about my day yesterday.
It's not as boring as it sounds.
Though I just realize(d?) it wasn't really a blog worthy post.

BUT IT'S MA BLOG AND I CAN TYPE WHATEVER I WANT TO.

On another high note,
I will be meeting bae today. Yay!

Preparation for the Engagement of a lifetime 2;

This is a continuation from my previous post, Preparation for the Engagement of a lifetime.
If you have yet to read it, you can either just scroll down a one post ago orrrr just click
here :)

I'm here now to tell you about my MUA and what I wore for my E-day.

MUA
She's amazing at what she does, I ain't sugar coating nothin'. She does brows on fleek and everything you'd want from a Make Up Artist. My sister got her to do my cousin's makeup for her engagement, and she did an amazing AMAAAAAAZING job.

So we got her services again to make us up for my cousin's wedding........ and of course, I don't have to say much huh. I'll just let the photos do the talking.

The one in white is my cousin, sadly I don't have a proper photo
of her all prettily made up.. But just look at her brows!!!

Now this one is me, done for my cousin's wedding.
Just look at my brows..........

The one in pink is my sister,
the same MUA made her up too!

TAAAADAAAA, this is Hafizah Yazed..
She has magical hands.
That's her awesome handy work for my E-day.

I think I will not be selfish and put a link to her facebook here.
HAHA, sharing is caring ya know :) :)
But really, she is really good at what she does.

What I wore
Omg this story, I have to tell you.
I bought my dress on instagram, and the girl brings in super gorgeous looking Indian outfits for all occasions. They really are a looker!! You can choose them to be already stitched or semi-stitched.
Do take note, if you want to get it already stitched do know your measurements! Either that or she does provide you with a list of standard measurements for you to choose from. So I got it semi-stitched. Which basically means (for those of you who don't know) the pattern of the outfit is already there, a tailor would just have to sew it together according to your measurements.

Oh btw! Waiting time is roughly 2 weeks for a semi-stitched.
&Her handle on instagram is @fashion_districtx

Here are a few photos of the outfit that I saw and bought, before I tell you a scary story which includes your worst nightmare when it comes to tailoring.

This was how I received it, neatly packed in a bag.

The beautifuuuullllll outfiiiiiiit *.*

This is the supposed end product after the stitching.
Which is also what I saw and fell in love with!!

This was my final product.
Isn't it prettttty? Yeah but the story behind it is a nightmare.

My family and I have a go-to tailor in Little India for Indian clothes. They are gooooooood!
&So I was supposed to send my outfit there for tailoring, Fai went with me, on a Sunday.. But we were about half an hour too late. Ultimately we only had about two to three weeks before our event, so I was desperate. Just a few shops away we spotted this one tailor on the second floor of the shophouse and went in to try our luck. It seemed that he had a couple of regulars, the aircon was cold like North Pole and the guy attended to us seemed professional. So we did a gamble and went with him.

RISKIEST GAMBLE OF OUR LIVES I TELL YOU.

He couldn't finish doing my outfit any earlier than a day before my engagement. A DAY BEFORE MY E-DAY CAN YOU BELIEVE IT. But I had put my hopes in him and just went along with it.

Fast forward to collection day; It was raining heavily.
I called them up about 15mins before we arrived (yes Fai followed me again), to let them know I'll be coming to pick up my outfit. The guy said okay, he'll find it and it'll be ready in 10 mins. I was excited and couldn't wait. But couldn't wait was just a far away fantasy for me. MY OUTFIT WAS NOT READY AT ALL. AND BY NOT READY, THEY HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED DOING ANYTHING TO IT. I'll gladly explain to you how I know. Firstly, when we walked in, the guy told us that they were ironing and will be ready shortly. So we waited and waited and waited.. Then he went in to "check smth" and came back out saying they are finishing up. Okay so we waited again right? I mean, whats the worse that could happen right? WRONG K JUST WRONG. A guy came out from the room and went down and appeared again with lining. I mean, it could be anyone's material.. But one look from the colour, I just knew that it was for my outfit. I need a whole new paragraph to express my sentiment on that right now.

THE GUY JUST GOT LINING FOR MY OUTFIT THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO COLLECT IN JUST 10 MINS A DAY BEFORE MY ENGAGEMENT OMG I TELL YOU I WAS FREAKING OUT CAUSE THAT JUST MEANT THEY ONLY STARTED SEWING MY OUTFIT THE MOMENT I STEPPED IN OMG.

Even now I feel the rage, but slowly after understanding the whole situation, which the guy still refused to admit or confess that they just started sewing my outfit and rather assure me by saying "they're finishing up, they're ironing, just abit more"........ I just looked at Fai and Fai looked at me that couples intuition eye talking thing, and we told him we will go for dinner and come back. The relief on the guy's face is still implanted in my head till today okay.

So we went for our dinner around the corner, and came back.
Just to let you know about the timing as well, in case you all think this is just over a span of an hour or two. We reached about 4:30pm. We only left the place close to 8pm. YES PEOPLE, CLOSE TO FOUR HOURS. I MEAN IF THEY COULD SEW MY OUTFIT IN FOUR HOURS, I GAVE THEM TWO WEEEEEEEEEEEEEKS!!!!!!

All in all, they managed to do my outfit and we paid for it and we left. First and last I tell you, I don't need no heart attacks everytime I send my outfit there okay please god no. Professionalism is really just 0. It could have been a one time off thing that just unfortunately happened to me, but please no more for me thank you.

Okay so like I said, it wasn't easy; planning for my E-day.
There were so many other hiccups or disagreements that happened throughout the planning stages that I can't even rmb or write down. But it happened. Just really I thank God that the day itself went smoother than a baby's buttock.

Xx,
Farah Tiara Charles

Up next, some photos from my E-day!
&Also, posts about my prep for my W-day!

Adult Life;

Finally back from a long day of work and a date with the fiancé.
I'm using my phone to blog, so most prolly this post is gonna be boring.
Cause it's just gonna be words words and more words.

After work, I met Fai for dinner at tamp mall then we proceeded to IKEA for bed surveying and to get some containers to contain his stuff (toys, can you believe it....) We found a couple of cool bed frames, those kinds that has storage under the bed.. We are thinking of getting one of those, so we can dump stuff in there. Saves soooo much space!!

A little back story to why we are looking at beds so soon:
Fai's sister has taken her bed to her new house, so he is currently bedless.. And since I'm moving into his place aft we get married (July 2017, btw) he needs to get a bed with thoughts of me too. So his mum told us to survey for beds and/or mattresses. I told him, he should just get a mattress (queen size of course!) and we can just sleep like that till we get our own place. I mean, we clearly won't know how big or small our room is going to be, so we can get the bed frame later on...... Right? Right!

I'm so smart.
Heh.

&Now I'm suuuuper tired and worn out, there was a lot of walking involved today.
Lying in bed now and I just wanna (= ̄ ρ ̄=) ..zzZZ
Goodnight everybody!

Xx,
Farah Tiara Charles

Yeaaaaah, we've reached the midweek point!

Preparation for the Engagement of a lifetime;

I ain't gonna be sugar coating nothing, just fyi.

There were so many times I was on the verge of a breakdown, not even kidding you.
I just felt like I didn't get much help and the people who were supposed to be supporting me wasn't and was so against what my choices were for everything and so on and so forth.

What are the things I needed to consider for my engagement, you ask? (ok you didn't ask but i'm gonna just tell you)
  1. Number of people (who and who and who to invite) -found in this post-
  2. What kind of food and for how many pax
  3. Venue (though it was never really a problem) -found in this post-
  4. What gifts to give (we didn't exchange much though) -found in this post-
  5. MUA (make up artist, for those who might not know what it means) -look out for the next post-
  6. The dulang (gift trays) -found in this post-
  7. What timing is the most suitable (with concerns of prayer timings)
  8. What was I going to wear?? -look out for the next post-
Invited (and non invited) Guests
So we decided to have it more intimate, just family and a few friends. Lucky for us we have alot of friends in common so it was more of a kill two birds with one stone kind of invite with the friends bit.

Gifts
When it came to the gifts, we both agreed that we were not gonna exchange so many gifts (all that we can do when we are already married) so this was how it was:

He gives her She gives him
Ring
+
Duit Hantaran
Watch
Cake Cake
Arrangement
of white roses
Her undying love
(HAHAHAHAHA)

Gift Trays
For our gift trays, we did a mini project together (only two, one for him and one for me).
We went to daiso and managed to purchase most of the stuff from there.

These are actually brown wood, we spray painted them a matte white.
Only $2 per piece!!

Spraying them to be as white as snow~

We bought some stuffing from daiso as well..
We also got small squares and stacked them up to give some height.

Not forgetting the baby's breath!!!!

DISCLAIMER:
These were definitely all not done within a day, we ain't superhumans k.

But anywaaaays, are you ready to see the finallllll product of only about $10 per gift tray???

DRUM ROLLLLLLL PLEAAAASE

So these were the final products~
photo credits: Fairuz (not the fiance lol)

Venue
For the venue, it was easy.. We used my late grandmother's house, which now and has always served as the family house. I call it my family's personal holiday bungalow (haaaaaaahaha). It's big and spacious enough to fit anybody and everybody, so it was the perfect place!!

Okay so for now, that's all I'll be telling you.
Of course I'll have a post of what I wore and the TORTURE I had to go through doing it.
and and and my wonderful MUA who is
AHMAAAAZING.

Xx,
Farah Tiara Charles

I'm really staring to wonder if anyone actually reads this blog, lol.
I doubt even my own fiance has gotten onto reading it though...
It's actually quite fun, infact.. It's almost reliving my engagement all over again.

Going back to the basics;

Ya'll must be thinking I'm very free during work..(i don't even know who ya'll is cause i doubt anyone but Fai would actually be reading this blog now lol)

Like I was saying, I schedule my posts la basically. So like I literally binge typed and schedule them to be posted throughout the day so my blog actually feels alive, more or less.

I just realised that I've been actually pretty good at blogging last time, and I clearly lost touch of it all. So I need to go back to the basics and learn things like embedding videos and gifs. ERRRMAGAAD.
It really is back to the basics. I literally had to remember my html coding again as well, to make amends to some stuff with regards to the blog. But fun ah, recalling back what goes where and what makes it go whim wham and BAM.

&Yes I still owe the post of preparation for my engagement.
But not to worrrrries, it's already been scheduled.

Talking about Engagement stuff; Dec 2015

Okay, so back dated post yeah?

It was the funniest thing actually.

We just wanted to check out rings for me cause we happen to come across one pretty princess tiara ring. So we found a day after work and just went ring window shopping, just to see how much it costs and how to check quality of diamonds and yada yada yada.

We eventually found ourselves at the shop where we saw the princess tiara ring, and asked looaaaads of questions about it. Found out that it wasn't as expensive as we expected it to be. Fai was definitely shocked though, he expected an engagement ring to be like what? 4k? 5k?

I fell in love with the ring of course, and could not even think about any others after laying my eyes upon the intricate beauty of the ring.. Moreover my second name is Tiara, and I've always loved princessy and fantasy stuff.. so it's like the ring was just right for me. The name of the ring is Sarah, I mean c'monnnn what are the odds that the only difference between our names are the first letter. That was all I needed to make my case :)

He went back and told his parents that same day that I have an interest in the prettiest ring and all they replied was "Ah okay, since Farah da suke.. esok kite pergi beli la"
"Ah okay, since Farah likes it, tmr we shall go and get it"

So yeah! I told my mother and my sister and got my sister to come along with us.. And with that first meeting of my sis and his parents, we managed to talk more about how we want it to go about. To have a big engagement or small engagement? To even have an engagement or not? There was so much to consider. How many people? Strictly family? Few friends? Extended family members? Food? I think overall the easiest decision Fai and I made was that we were not going to have any materialistic gifts for exchange. (This I will talk about it in the next post, I hope)

Ultimately, the ring was paid for and thus plans must be made for when the Engagement was to be.
It had to be an engagement cause my mother wanted it so badly, so okay la.. Make her happy abit, cause I wasn't gonna listen to her about a whole lot of other things anyway.

Planned for the engagement to actually be this month, but somehow it got pushed forward to 13th February. And so I shall stop here and continue other stuff on the next post, if I ever get to it. :)

Farah Tiara Charles

Life with no more heartbreaks; I finally made it.

I'm engaged to my bestfriend, and honestly I have never felt any happier and free in my life.
Looking back at my past posts, I literally cried. I read each and every post from the start, and I just bawled bucket of tears. Not cause I miss that life, but I am so much more matured and have a wider perspective of life that when I look back, I was so naive. I loved everyone at that point of time with my heart and felt like I was going to die when it got broken. How many times I went through that, so many..

But I have not gotten my heart broken for three years now, and till forever more.
Cause Fairus happened.

Yes, I may have said it countless of times in different posts about different people.

But this time it's different, I have found someone who loves me for me and I'm pretty sure he loves me more than I love him. Okay no, we definitely are so in love with each other. And I mean, clearly this is the longest lasting relationship I've ever been in and also I'M ENGAGEDDDDDD. Did I mention that alr? Yeah, ENGAGED TO BE MARRRRRRIED.
